Is there a waiting list

We operate a priority catchment area (in line with Lydgate Infant School) waiting list for local children.

Parents can place their child's name on the waiting list in the academic year they turn age two.

Pre-school children usually start in September and are with us for the academic year before they start Reception class at school. Children mainly go on to Lydgate Infant school though children do go onto other local schools.

A place at Pre-school does not guarantee a place at school and parents/carers must apply separately for a school place through Primary Admissions

WHat do people say about us

Professionals

“Crosspool Community Pre-school embraces the ethos of providing a high quality environment to support children’s early learning and allow them to flourish and achieve well. The quality of the early years provision is influenced through a range of effective partnerships with parents, other local providers and the adjoining school.”
Tracy Manterfield/ Lynne Truelove, Early Years Foundation Stage Quality Improvement Officers

“Children enjoy considerable amounts of free flow time and have a large outdoor area with a variety of activities. Rolling snack enables children to have control over when they snack and they can continue with their activities.”
Mandy Marsden, Pre-school Learning Alliance.

Parents

"Thank you very much for such a lovely report. We really appreciate everything you have done for Bella. We have also noticed her grow in confidence and develop socially, emotionally and academically. You all work so hard and deserve a good break during the summer holidays. Crosspool Pre-school is a fabulous setting which is dedicated to supporting children’s early years learning and I am proud our daughter got the opportunity to be part of it."

Claire Lindley

"We really appreciate all the hard work by Jane and the Pre-school staff. Felix really enjoyed himself at Pre-school, looking forward to coming each time. He has also really learned a lot during his time. It is amazing how much detail Jane has put into his report and file it certainly exceeds the information we get from school. We are really grateful for all you have done."

Alison and Paul

"Ciara has grown in confidence over the last 12 months and I think Pre-school has been instrumental to that. Going is something she has enjoyed all along and talked about with excitement and gusto. I would like to thank all the teachers and staff for doing such a wonderful, important job!
Callum has developed and grown so much this year and Pre-school has helped him to form friendships and develop skills in play, sharing and creativity. He seems to have really enjoyed attending Pre-school. Thank-you for all your hard work and taking care of Callum."
